It truly is daunting how much you’d find out about a person through their tattoos. Here we have Zeke (Yeah I know, cool name already.) We approached Zeke, asked about his tattoos and he was pretty cool about it.
Remedios: This tattoo is actually the name of Zeke’s grandmother, why he had his grandmother’s name tattooed you ask? Well, Zeke is actually a chef, and his grandmother serves as his inspiration.
Japanese Dragon: Zeke told us he chose this design because it looked aesthetically pleasing to his own liking, and that it symbolizes life and death as well.

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
— Saint Francis of Assisi
Here we have Tim’s right arm tattoo. When asked why he got this prayer, this is what he said.
This is my favorite prayer. You see, I had struggles in the past and whenever I feel like giving up, I pray this. Having this tattooed made it easier for me to do that. When I feel down or lost, I just look at my arm and read it. It gives me strength to fight my problems and inspiration to live a happy life.

I’m sorry the quality is shit. Will do better in the next post.

Here we have Liezl! She agreed to talk about her tattoos, and how lovely they are.
Seven Stars: This one was the first tattoo I got (sorry for the crappy photo haha) It’s actually quite literal since my surname is Bituin (which means star in English) I got seven stars because we’re basically seven in the family, although my Kuya (older brother) died when I was still a kid.
Euphoria: The second tattoo I got is a simple reminder for me to remain happy.
Birds: My third tattoo I got this, because I wanted something to symbolize hope, in spite of all the problems that I encounter everyday.

Hey guys! Christal here.
As far as I can remember, I’ve been always fascinated with tattoos and it has always been my dream to have one. Angeline getting her first ink made me realize that I should not worry about what my family would feel (they are not big tattoo fans). You see, I grew up in a sheltered environment where people constantly dictate on what I should do. Even my college course was forced on me. Getting this is a message to all those people, telling them that this is my body, not theirs. It is my life, not theirs. This also is a commemoration for my last year as a teen.
I love Brazil so much that I had my tattoo in Portuguese. Viver means “to live”. It serves as a reminder to never ever take life for granted (which I am constantly doing). The birds are a symbol of my friendship with Angeline and for me, it symbolizes my freedom from all.
Dream come true.

Here we have the lovely Micqua, and here’s her tattoo story. (I personally think this tattoo of hers is beautiful.)
This is my first ever tattoo. I got it on January 18th 2012. I’ve been really wanting to get a tattoo, and I spent months thinking of what I should get, and so I started making sketches or things I’d want, and this was the first thing that I drew on my sketchpad. I loved the idea of paper airplanes. They were so simple, and clean, and meaningful, for me because it symbolizes hopes and dreams, (plus it reminded me of the song, fly like paper, and high like planes) not only that, but I guess what made me want to have it on my body forever, was its simplicity; it’s amazing how paper can be so simple and ambitious at the same time. That was me. It became a constant reminder for me to work towards my goal. Why? Because if you make something what you are, or what you have, then you can go places, not only to the ones you’ve always wanted, even to those you’ve never dreamed of. That’s why I got paper airplanes. And yes, Angeline, is right! Once you get one, you’ll want more! I’m planning to get my second one, it’s going to be an excerpt from the Iliad, so watch out for it! :)

So, I figured the first two posts would be my tattoos, and Christal’s tattoo as well!
Lemniscate: I got my first tattoo for my 19th birthday, I decided to get one not only because I’ve been itching to get , but because at that time my mum was in the hospital and her condition was critical. It was there that I realized how fragile life is, and so I got a tattoo to my liking. I chose a lemniscate because, I’ve been battling depression as well as BPD, in spite that, I knew I had to do something about it, and fight it myself and so this lemniscate would remind me that there are no bound and ends. That I will get through this, for I am infinite. As cheesy as it sounds, I call this tat to infinity and beyond!
Times are hard for dreamers + Birds: I got my second tattoo during Christal’s 19th birthday, she asked me if I could accompany her, and so I did. I, myself wanted another tattoo (really though, once you get one you’ll want more.) I chose “Les temps sont durs pour les rêveurs.” since I’ve always had a liking to the film Amelie, and the quote hits close to home. I’ve always been passionate about theatre, and so you can only imagine my disappoint when I wasn’t allowed to take it up for uni, and instead was thrown into a medical field. I guess you could say things have worked out pretty well, but that tattoo will always be a constant reminder to me of how much passionate I can be, in spite it being “Times are hard for dreamers.” As for the birds, it is a friendship tattoo between me and Christal, I guess you can throw in the saying ”Birds of the same feather flock together.”
